The 2003 CLC Grand National in Saratoga Springs turned out to be a most significant event in the development of our Raritan River Region.  Our Region was responsible for bringing an amazing quantity of cars to this event.  More important still was the number of these vehicles that received recognition by the careful and arduous judging of the expert CLC judges.  Congratulations to all the winners!!

Even more significant was the transition of the Raritan River Region from provisional status to full charter status.  In his presentation to the National Board of Directors, Lee Herberman mentioned the activities and achievements of the RRR in its first year of existence.  Lee went on to mention that any group of people can get together for a short time and interact as a unit.  What makes the RRR special, and gives real credence to our organization, are our first class newsletter and dynamic website.  A motion was made to remove our provisional status and unanimously approved by the entire board in attendance. 

The acme of our accomplishments came at the beginning of the awards ceremony on Saturday evening.  According to awards chairman Andy Zizolfo, it is most unusual to recognize a new region with a national award.  However, the tremendous accomplishment of our webmaster, Pat Caruso, transcends traditions.  Pat received the Website Excellence Award amid a tumultuous ovation from the entire assemblage.

A hearty pat on the back goes to each and every member of the Raritan River Region.  And a standing ovation goes to Pat Caruso for his incredible achievements during our first year.
