I purchased my 1993 Fleetwood
Brougham d'Elegance in March 2001 from its original owner, Mr. William Chaffee.
It had 40,268 miles on it and was in excellent original condition. Always
garaged and used primarily for church and Sunday drives - it even had a new car
smell!
While Mr. Chaffee took wonderful care of the car, he decided that
he did not want to put any money into new tires, brakes and hoses. He
wanted a new Deville - which he got, and I got the Brougham! The car is
painted dark metallic blue (Cadillac called it Black Sapphire) and has the
Brougham d'Elegance package along with every available option except the "astroroof."
Unfortunately, Mr. Chaffee could not locate any of the original paperwork, but
in checking data I had purchased in Denver at the CLC Grand National, I estimate
the car retailed at approximately $40,000.
Needless to say, it is a magnificent
motorcar - truly a "Cadillac." By the way, her name is "Marlene", named
for the glamorous movie star Marlene Dietrich, who appeared in a 1930's movie
called "The Blue Angel."

A BRIEF HISTORY

FLEETWOOD - FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM

The 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood was
considered the first new body design in 17 years. In addition, it was the
longest production car at 225.1 inches. It added some weight, too,
approximately 140 pounds, over previous Fleetwoods. Produced for only four
years, these cars have quickly become collector's items amongst Cadillac
enthusiasts.
