1955 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan

The year 1955 was a record breaker
for the automotive industry and Cadillac in particular. A total of 140,777
Cadillac cars were produced. This Series 62 Sedan is one of 45,300 sedans
produced for the 1955 model year and was the most popular model produced by
Cadillac. It is often referred to as a "Six-Window" sedan because of the
small vent windows located behind the rear door post.
This Cadillac is powered by a 331
cubic inch, 250 horsepower, V-8 engine. A four barrel Rochester carburetor
delivers the fuel. This car measures 216.3" in length and weighs in at
4,370 pounds. When new it carried a base sticker price of $3,970.

Also available, as an option, were
whitewall tires, "E-Z Eye" safety glass (tinted windows) and the Cadillac "Autronic
Eye" automatic headlight dimmer. Air conditioning could be purchased for
$620. For an extra $161, any 1955 Cadillac could be equipped with the 270
horsepower, twin four-barrel carburetor engine used in the Eldorado Series.
This Cadillac is finished in
Arlington Green with a Gray brocade cloth interior.
