A friend of mine told me about a person he knew in Connecticut that was restoring a LaSalle.  The LaSalle was in a restoration shop undergoing a frame off restoration, and the owner wanted to sell it.  I purchased the 1940 LaSalle Convertible Coupe Model 5267 and took possession in October 2002, after most of the restoration was complete.

This award-winning LaSalle is finished in Homer Gray with a red interior, and complemented by a black convertible top with red piping.

The original car was shipped to the New York Metropolitan area on Tuesday, June 18, 1940 from Detroit, Michigan.  It is number 414 of a total of 425 Model 5267 Convertible Coupes that were manufactured until June 30, 1940, when the last LaSalle left the assembly line.
