1962 Series 62 Convertable Owner: Ray Koziol

Ray Koziol  –  1962 Cadillac Series 62 Cadillac

This is a 3 family owned Cadillac since new.  Originally ordered by Criss Cadillac Company of Providence, Rhode Island it was used by the dealer principal and his family.  As the summer ended and the ’63 models were arriving it was placed in dealer inventory for sale and on October 23, 1962 Dr. William Horan, also of Providence, RI purchased the car primarily for his wife’s use.  It was used sparingly, locked away for the winter emerging only when the thrill of “top down” driving could be enjoyed.  As Dr. and Mrs. Horan got on in years they eventually transferred the Cadillac to their son who used it in the same manner as his parents’ had done.   After years of ownership and as the son got on in age he decided it was time to sell the family Cadillac.  It was at this time a local Rhode Island Cadillac enthusiast purchased the car.  He enjoyed it for a time but other projects were calling so he placed an ad in the Self-Starter and the rest is as they say, “history”.  My custodial care for this convertible began in February of 2006 with the odometer showing 64,935 original miles.  She now (2015) sits 67,127 original miles on the “clock”.  Finished in its’ original color, Turquoise the car has had one re-spray prior to my ownership.  Since my purchase I have re-done the interior to original specifications and attended to some minor mechanical work.  Overall she is a strong driver and great fun to tool along the highways and byways of New Jersey.
