"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." No! Wait! It was
a GREAT time! Let me tell you all about it.

The
main branch of the Somerset County Library System at Bridgewater and the
Raritan River Region, CLC have had a great relationship. When the RRR
needed meeting space, it was made available to us. When the SCLS need old
cars to visit assisted living facilities, the RRR was there. In addition
to having more information that any place in cyber space, the library has
always been able to answer (yes real people!) any question, or point one
in the right direction to look for the answer. They may not be able to
rebuild your carburetor, but they can give you information on the design,
history and engineering principles of fuel delivery systems since the dawn
of time operable. And that doesn't consider their myriad of "how to"
books. Rich Loomis and his crack reference staff also have another
talent: They know how to organize a car show.
We know the library
is good at research. They ascertained, and presented, the three most
important ingredients to a collector car show: Cars, entertainment
and spectators. The field of about 70 show cars entertained a never
ending stream of spectators. Recorded music did a wonderful job of
presenting a variety styles and moods. And the steady flow of
spectators was a sign of great success.
"Cadillac Row" was manned by
Bernie Cooney
and his elegant 1985 Seville.
Ray Koziol's
'62 Convertible was top-down; making everyone jealous!
Pat Caruso
lucked out and parked his '75 Sedan deVille next to the registration
table. But club members also brought out their non-Cadillac
transports.
Joe Puleo's
immaculate red Chevelle SS was a hit! And
Rich Nalavany
and friend
Al Gionta
brought their 1949 Ford Tudor Custom, too.
A new addition to the show field was a restored 1950 Chevrolet ice-cream
truck - fully stocked and open for business!
Thanks to our hosts, Rich Loomis and the entire staff of the Bridgewater
Library!
