(NJ) Little League Parade |

It
was hard to tell why the kids were smiling so much - was it because the
Somerset Patriots' mascot, Sparkee, was there? Maybe it was the pair
of 50's era Cadillacs? The line-up of shiny motorcycles? Or
maybe, just maybe, it was the anticipation of another fun-filled year of
LITTLE LEAGUE!
Once again, the RRR was invited to participate in
Watchung's Annual Little League Parade. This rite of spring brings
together many community organizations to support the area's boys and girls
during the opening weekend of baseball and softball.
The
parade was lead by the Watchung Fire Department, followed by the Watchung
Rescue Squad, a local motorcycle club, and the RRR. And behind our
cars - a sea of kids with their clean uniforms and brand-new gloves!
The RRR was represented by Ray Koziol in his
'52 Fleetwood.
Jay Raskin and his
'56 Series 62 Convertible were the
vehicle of choice for Parade Grand Marshall, Phil Brown, and Sparkee, the
Somerset Patriot's Mascot. The parade route brought us around the
Watchung Circle and back to Mobus field, where the call "Play Ball!" would
soon be heard.
Thanks to our participants, Ray & Jay, for continuing
the community spirit! |
