Doesn't it seem like we are always
running around on the weekend? Run to the bank - then run to the
post office - then run to the grocery store. Maybe, just maybe, get
to a cruise night....Well, it
sure make all that running around seem insignificant when you realize
there are far greater problems in life. Like helping kids with
cancer and their families.
In early October, the RRR was
invited to attend a charity car show at Monroe Township High School.
Each year, the students in the MTHS's Sports & Entertainment Marketing
Class and the DECA Chapter host a car show, where all the proceeds benefit
a charity of the students' choosing.
This year's charity was
Alex's Lemonade Stand
- a foundation that fund's children's cancer research. The
foundation, a registered 501c3 charity, has raised over $16 million for
childhood cancer research. A donation was made to Alex's in the name
of the Raritan River Region.
This show consistently has about 50
cars on the show field - hopefully, we'll help them raise that figure next
year!
Many thanks to our
club members who attended and represented the RRR.
